tsogbe is a los angeles based independent design workshop founded by deborah tsogbe.
we make soft wear, experimenting with textiles and technology.
our work explores transformation through giving novel configurations to un-new soft goods and
creating new frameworks for an understanding of human systems through tactile communication.
we consider our frequenters to be collaborators, friends, and comrades.
we value unique identities, and we seek to know the boundaries of what it means to be connected to each other.
we are working through questions of adaptability and trust.
we appreciate offbeat making practices and rituals of relational maintenance,
informed by deborah’s experiences as an indigenous, non-binary Togolese immigrant.
our play with function, form, and material pays tribute to Togolese tradition and pulls from global histories.
our hope is that our works allow our frequenters to
feel at home in their bodies and in sync with their neighbors, and that this
promotes restorative dynamics in their larger communities.
